Regarding flowers for the service...

Indeed, Forest Lawn will give out no information as this is a private service. If you wish to send flowers, just say that they are for the Sandy West funeral and they are to be delivered to Forest Lawn in Cypress by Friday late afternoon. They will deal with getting them to the proper place and time internally. They will not discuss with you those details, but if you just give them those instructions, it will be done.

I just spoke with them on the phone, they said to do it on the web, just make sure for 'Recipient' you type Sandy West, and 'Location' Cypress, and you're good. They take care of the rest. They've received five orders by phone from you guys and one via the web, so everything is working as it should.

Thank you for your expressions of love and caring towards Sandy, it means a tremendous amount to all of us.

xoxoxox,
Mara

Mara-

This is my first post here, and I am so glad I found it. Two days ago I was sitting in my living room reading the NY Times and I saw the obituary for Sandy. I was bowled over with remorse. Just the week before I sawy Joan playing at Irving Plaza in NYC and I was recalling my fond memories of "discovering" and falling in love with The Runaways back in my early college years (1980). Listening to their albums (hey, how about "Wild Thing))!!! and then watching the "********" documentary only confirmed my suspicions that Sandy West was truly one of the most kind-hearted, honest and innocent members of that ground-breaking team. It seems she held close to her convictions and simply expected the same from everyone else.

My heart goes out to all her friends and family. Thank you for making a difference, Sandy. Everything you accomplished DID matter.

It was difficult to part with such a positive force in my life. But nothing lasts forever. In reality we never lose the people we love. They become immortal through us. They continue to live in our hearts and minds. They participate in our every act, idea and decision. No one will ever replace them and in spite of the pain we are richer for all the years invested in them. Because of them, we have so much more to bring to our present relationships and all those to come.

Taken from "bus nine to paradise" by leo buscaglia.

In loving Memory of Sandy West... she will forever remain in our hearts.....
